Key Responsibilities
* Support the day-to-day operations of the State Emergency Service.
* Assist with preparedness, response and recovery activities.
* Contribute to a safe, professional and effective emergency response capability.
Key Tasks
* Operational Roles
o Storm and cyclone damage operations (e.g. tarping, working at heights, temporary repairs, pumping, sandbagging).
o Land search and rescue support.
o Chainsaw and debris clearance (once trained).
o Vertical rescue and access support (once trained).
o Transport, logistics and equipment management.
* Support Roles
o Communications and radio operations.
o Administration and records support.
o Public information and social media assistance.
o Recruitment, welfare and general support duties.

Time Required: Weekly local training is conducted. Members are encouraged to attend regularly where possible. Additional DFES weekend courses are available to develop specialist skills.
Training
Basic induction training on application. Ongoing operational and support role training. Specialist courses ranging from half-day to multi-day, delivered at no cost.
