Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play an integral role across financial operations while acting as a trusted business partner to operational and non‑finance leaders.
Key responsibilities include:
Business Partnering & Communication
Build strong working relationships across operational and corporate teams.
Communicate financial results clearly and confidently to non‑finance stakeholders.
Translate complex data into meaningful insights to support decision‑making.
Engage regularly, both in‑person and online, to strengthen stakeholder understanding and alignment.
Accounting Operations & Financial Control
Review and approve accounts payable coding, GST treatment, and payment batches.
Maintain and reconcile fixed asset registers.
Prepare invoices for revenue, intercompany, and expense recoveries.
Complete monthly and annual balance sheet reconciliations and support month‑end close.
Management Reporting & Analysis
Prepare accurate monthly management reporting and cashflow analyses.
Analyse performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying trends and risks.
Provide insights that help operational leaders understand financial implications.
Financial Planning & Compliance
Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting cycles.
Prepare BAS returns, ABS surveys, and assist with statutory reporting and audits.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax legislation, and group policies.
Travel Requirements
This role requires regular travel to head office and operational sites, allowing you to build relationships, understand the business firsthand, and support stakeholders effectively.
What you'll need to succeed
Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA/CA qualification (completed or in progress) preferred.
Strong financial accounting and management reporting experience.
Exceptional communication skills and confidence engaging with non‑finance stakeholders.
Comfort and willingness to travel for business purposes.
Strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and a proactive approach.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with ERP systems desirable.
