About This Opportunity The primary purpose of this position is to provide high quality customer service and administrative support regarding matters relating to student placements in the Faculty of Science programs. The position is required to provide high quality customer service through the delivery of friendly, helpful, accurate, and informative advice and services to students, professional and academic staff, and external stakeholders. The role is based at the St Lucia campus but supports Schools based at Gatton campus so some travel may be required. Key responsibilities will include: Provide accurate and timely information and advice to staff, students and external stakeholders related to student placements in the Faculty in accordance with University rules, policies and procedures. Liaise with program directors, course coordinators and placement providers to coordinate student placements. Allocate students to placements based on a variety of methods including self-arranged, student preferences and interviews, and liaise with placement providers to facilitate appropriate placements. Develop and maintain accurate records of student placement agreements. Utilise corporate and bespoke software systems used by the Faculty of Science to perform placement related tasks, and be committed to using new systems as they are developed. Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures related to student placements. A sound understanding of key administrative processes relevant to WIL placements, or the ability to rapidly gain such knowledge. Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines. High level of attention to detail and accuracy in written work. Ability to exercise initiative and judgment and to work independently and autonomously. High level written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. The ability to work collaboratively and effectively within the team and across other organisational units. A strong orientation to the provision of a high level of customer service. An empathy with and ability to communicate with students, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds.
