The Fire Safety Maintenance team is responsible for managing and overseeing Specialised Fire Safety Maintenance program and contract management and providing expert fire safety advice and performance management on fire safety maintenance across the portfolio. The key activities involve management of contract performance, routine servicing, monitoring, reporting, and budgeting of specialised fire safety maintenance across Housing Portfolio properties, ensuring compliance with legislation and maintaining high-quality standards through risk-based quality assurance. The purpose of this role is to manage, oversee and carry out on-site and desktop compliance inspections to ensure that maintenance meets required standards and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as per contractual agreements. This role may require statewide travel including overnight stay where necessary, for the purposes of onsite audits. What you'll do As the Compliance Supervisor, you will be responsible for planning and managing the compliance inspection program, as well as overseeing its staff and external resources to ensure the efficient and cost-effective management of assets in accordance with required maintenance standards. The Compliance Supervisor will need to lead from front in conducting audits along with the team and provide continuous technical guidance/advice to other regional compliance teams to achieve the best and consistent fire safety maintenance practice. Building and nurturing positive relationships with key stakeholders and contractors will be essential, facilitating effective contract and relationship management while providing direction, support, and feedback to ensure compliance inspections are conducted effectively and in line with Housing Portfolio and Australian standards. You will lead and manage direct reports, including allocating work, appraising performance, and fostering their ongoing professional development. Identifying, responding to, and rectifying instances of non-compliance will be a key aspect of your role, along with managing external service providers to meet contracted compliance and performance standards within the governing framework. Additionally, you'll contribute to the development of compliance, risk, and performance management programs, supporting the delivery of services and providing specialised compliance training to staff. Your role will also involve liaising with and advising asset performance and compliance staff on compliance regimes, including the preparation of reports and briefs. What we're looking for Experience in managing staff, together with compliance experience or measurement of performance against standards. Demonstrated planning skills together with timetabling experience to meet audit performance targets. Project and resource management experience. Trade qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or a discipline applicable to fire safety/essential services maintenance and/or equivalent subject matter knowledge, technical skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
