The Hoochery Distillery is Western Australia's oldest operating legal still, located in Kununurra, WA. It is a fast growing and dynamic business. We are looking for an experienced, dynamic & passionate chef to join our team.
Reports to: Venue Manager
Key responsibilities and duties:
- Developing menu and menu items to suit local and seasonal available produce thatshowcases our region
* Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
* Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
* Discussing food preparation issues with managers, kitchen and waiting staff
* Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
* Preparing and cooking food
* Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
* Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
* Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
* Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
* Storing food in temperature controlled facilities
* Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
* Organising and preparing food and service for functions with up to 200 guests
Qualifications required:
* Minimum 3 years' experience in similar position and relevant cookery qualifications
Other required skills:
* Ability to work independently
* Able to work under pressure
* Able to communicate with back and front of house
* Must hold current drivers license
Ordinary Hours:
Monday – Saturday 8am - 5pm
Evening work will be required for various functions
