Welcome to Kingpin, where hospitality and entertainment collide. You might think you know us, but we're about to redefine fun in Melbourne. Opening early 2026, our new Kingpin venue is set to be the ultimate showstopper, your new local and quite frankly, a bit of a show-off. Spanning a massive 3700m², this space will feature:

* A next level bar and grill with serious main character energy
* 2 bars, 16 taps, endless vibes craft and classic beers, cocktails and premium pours
* Every sport live ensuring guests never miss a match-game moment
* Event spaces designed for trivia nights, comedy shows, and more
* A sporting arena packed with activities like indoor lawn bowls, batting cages, and darts

Essence of the position:

We have begun the search for our Sous Chef. Our Bar & Grill opening in Kingpin Melbourne (Jan 2026) will feature a state-of-the-art open kitchen including a Josper Grill and pizza oven. Some of your key areas of responsibility will be:

* Assist in managing day-to-day kitchen operations, supporting the management team with stocktake where required and ordering, rostering duties
* Support the execution of Group & Corporate events, working with your stakeholders to deliver on best outcomes
* Becoming a champion of safety both inside & outside our kitchen
* Train and develop your team to ensure they have every opportunity to grow their careers
* Enthusiastically drive and implement and new menus and F&B promotions

Key Attributes & Capabilities:

Putting people neatly into boxes, isn't really our style, but there are a few key factors that will be really important when it comes to selecting the right candidate for this position:

* Proven experience as a Sous Chef in high volume restaurants or premium casual dining environment
* A hands-on chef who is able to multi-task and prioritise
* Strong understanding of food safety principles, particularly allergen & dietary management, + regulatory compliance requirements
* Experience in working across large scale events and functions
