Job Description: The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions is committed to promoting biodiversity and conservation to enrich people's lives, through sustainable management of Western Australia's species, ecosystems, lands and the attractions in the department's care. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Fire Management Services team. Under the general (Level 4) or limited (Level 5) direction of the Fire Aviation Manager:
* Participates in and guides aspects of the department's aviation operations
* Provides advice on aviation resource, systems and technology
* Coordinates the provision of training and safety programs for aviation operations
* Oversees aviation related projects and processes

Selection Criteria
Applicants should address the following four (4) criteria. These should be addressed in no more than four (4) pages in total.
* Demonstrated (Level 4) or considerable (Level 5) experience in and knowledge of fire control and aircraft operations involving fixed and rotary wing aircraft, including experience in supervising aircraft prescribed burning incendiary operations and working knowledge of computer based aerial navigation systems.
* Evidence of well-developed (Level 4) or highly developed (Level 5) oral and written communication and interpersonal skills demonstrated experience in effective liaison and negotiation with other internal groups and external parties, with evidence of having satisfactorily responded to and resolved stakeholder issues, plus ability to use computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to prepare reports and make effective presentations to senior staff.
* Demonstrated (Level 4) or considerable (Level 5) experience and skills in the supervision, training, appraisal and development of people, and competence in safety program coordination, and investigation.
* Demonstrated (Level 4) or considerable (Level 5) experience in project planning and management including finance, procurement and contract, administration and risk management.
