The Payroll Officer and Assistant Accountant plays a crucial role in managing payroll processes, assisting with daily accounting functions, and supporting global payments.
Responsibilities:
* Administer payroll processing across multiple countries, ensuring accuracy and compliance
* Manage employee entitlements such as leave and sick days
* Coordinate with outsourced payroll providers to ensure timely and compliant payroll execution
* Resolve employee payroll inquiries efficiently
Accounting Responsibilities:
* Prepare and submit statutory payroll filings, including payroll tax and government contributions
* Stay updated with relevant legislation, particularly in Australia
* Ensure compliance with single-touch payroll (STP) and leave liabilities
* Support audit processes with payroll documentation
Financial Reconciliation:
* Perform payroll reconciliations for taxes, superannuation, and balance sheet accounts
* Process payroll-related journal entries for month-end reporting
Cross-Functional Support:
* Provide backup for accounts payable and receivable functions
* Collaborate on process improvements with finance and HR teams
