What you can expect from a day in this role:

In this role, you will lead a high-performing culinary team dedicated to consistently exceeding guest expectations at Saffire.

You’ll oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu design, food quality, departmental performance, budgeting, and team development.

Your leadership will directly shape the guest experience, ensuring every dish reflects the creativity and excellence that defines Saffire.

You will also play a key role in building strong relationships with local suppliers and the broader Tasmanian community, using these connections to inspire seasonal menus and showcase the region’s finest produce.

We're looking for a leader who brings solid people management skills, with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and fostering a culture that values both team engagement and exceptional guest service.

What you will bring to the role:

- Extensive experience as an Executive Chef in fine dining environments, with a strong command of contemporary cooking styles and techniques

- A natural leader with the ability to inspire, mentor, and manage high-performing kitchen teams in premium restaurant settings

- A genuine love for Tasmanian produce and a commitment to delivering hospitality excellence through locally sourced ingredients

- Comfortable working across a rotating roster, including evenings and weekend, perfect for those who thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced hospitality environment

- Certificate III or higher in Commercial Cookery

This role is in a beautiful remote Tasmanian location, but still only a two hour drive away from Hobart and Launceston.

Our staff has access to live in subsidised and fully-furnished accommodation in Tasmania’s breathtaking Freycinet National Park which is located only 10 minutes' drive from holiday town, Coles Bay.
