About the Role

The Manager, Reviews & Committees plays a key part in providing high‐quality, technical and science‐based strategic advice to support government‐commissioned reviews led by the Office of the Chief Scientist & Engineer.

The role is responsible for managing complex projects end‐to‐end, including research, analysis, and the drafting and review of submissions, technical papers and reports. Working closely with the Chief Scientist & Engineer, Deputy Chief Scientist & Engineer and Senior Managers, you will prepare complex and sensitive briefings and provide high‐level support across reviews, committees and expert panels. The role requires the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders across government, research institutions and the community, while exercising sound judgement, integrity and discretion in a fast‐paced environment.

We're Looking For

* Project & Review Leadership: Proven experience delivering complex, high‐profile projects or reviews, managing timelines, risks and governance in fast‐paced environments.
* Analytical & Critical Thinking: Ability to analyse, synthesise and interpret complex scientific, technical and policy information to develop sound, evidence‐based advice.
* Clear & Influential Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing high‐quality briefings, reports and submissions for senior executives.
* Stakeholder & Committee Engagement: Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships across government, academia, industry and advisory committees to support review outcomes.
* Integrity, Probity & Judgement: Experience handling sensitive and confidential matters with discretion, professionalism and a strong understanding of public sector values and processes.
* Collaboration & Adaptability: A collaborative team player who can work across disciplines, manage competing priorities and respond flexibly to changing demands.
* Essential Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in science, engineering or a closely related discipline are essential, with government or industry experience highly regarded.
