The Pastry Lounge is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Pastry Chef Assistant. Monday to Friday 6am - 2pm
**Responsibilities**:
- **Assist in Pastry Production**: Support the pastry team in the preparation and production of a variety of pastries.
- **Ingredient Preparation**: Assist with measuring, weighing, and preparing ingredients according to recipes and production requirements.
- **Maintain Cleanliness**: Ensure cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen, including equipment, workstations, and storage areas.
- **Follow Food Safety Standards**: Adhere to food safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- **Assist with Inventory**: Help monitor inventory levels, assist with stock rotation, and notify management of ingredient needs as necessary.
- **Collaborate with Team**: Work closely with pastry chefs and other team members to execute orders efficiently and meet production deadlines.
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience in a pastry or bakery setting is preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, equipment, and ingredients.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and passion for pastry.
