What is our Clinical Nurse Manager role?
We are looking for a Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) to join our Radiation Oncology team to provide leadership and support to our highly valued nursing workforce and to promote expert care for patients within our service. The CNM will be responsible for performing the following duties:
1. Provides local leadership to medical, nursing, and allied health professionals in area(s) of specialty.
2. Promotes a team approach to decision-making and high-quality patient care.
3. Manages and coordinates the recruitment, selection, and orientation of staff. Implements and maintains performance management systems which support the ongoing development of staff.
4. Actively participates in the development and implementation of clinical standards, policies, and strategies for the area(s) of specialty.
5. Facilitates opportunities for further education and development to promote succession planning.
The Radiation Oncology team supports up to 250 patients a day through radiation treatment and contains five linear accelerators and one CyberKnife unit. There is close liaison with other specialties and symptom control. Nurse-led interventions are supported, and education and learning are encouraged.
This role reports to the Coordinator of Nursing.
