Position: Cook
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect and select ingredients for food preparation to ensure freshness and quality.
Prepare, season, and cook Indian dishes including curries, tandoori items, and breads using authentic methods.
Monitor food preparation and portion sizes to maintain consistency and food safety.
Operate and clean kitchen equipment such as tandoor ovens, grills, and fryers.
Plan and execute food production for dine-in, takeaway, and catering orders.
Ensure all food handling, storage, and hygiene practices comply with Australian food safety regulations.
Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service.
Adapt recipes to cater to customer preferences or dietary requirements when needed.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, equipment, and storage areas.
Skills & Requirements:
At least 1 years of experience in a commercial kitchen (Indian cuisine preferred).
Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent (e.g., Certificate III in Commercial Cookery).
Sound knowledge of Indian cooking techniques, spices, and food presentation.
Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to food hygiene and safety standards.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
