Position Overview
We're looking for an Assistant In Nursing (AIN) to support patients undergoing dialysis in the Wansey Dialysis Unit, Charlestown, part of the John Hunter Hospital Department of Nephrology. This temporary part‐time role (12 hrs/week until April 2027) offers the opportunity to gain clinical experience in a high‐volume dialysis unit with 22 chairs, while working alongside a dedicated team of registered nurses.
Remuneration and Employment
Hourly rate: $26.93 – $33.37 + superannuation. Employment type: temporary part time 12 hrs/week until April 2027.

Responsibilities
Support patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment. Assist with preparing and setting up dialysis sessions, ensuring equipment and supplies are ready and safe. Provide comfort, reassurance, and basic care as directed by registered nurses. Work as part of a collaborative team to deliver patient‐centred dialysis care.
Schedule
Shifts run from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Saturday.
Qualifications
* Certificate III in Assisting in Nursing (Acute Care only)
* Registered Nursing student (completed 1st year + 1st semester/trimester of 2nd year)
* Enrolled Nursing student (completed foundational TAFE NSW Diploma units + 80 hours clinical placement)
