Job Title: Systems & Network Engineer (On-Site)

Location: North Sydney, NSW

Salary: Up to $120k + Super

Type: Permanent (On-site, 5 days per week)

Eligibility: Permanent Resident / Citizen only (No sponsorship or relocation offered)

About the Role

I am seeking a hands-on Systems & Network Engineer with experience working in an MSP, who can balance technical expertise with strong client engagement skills. This is a client-facing role where you'll be the trusted technical advisor, delivering solutions across servers, networks, firewalls, and security systems, while also ensuring a seamless client experience.

If you enjoy solving complex technical problems, thrive in customer-facing environments, and want to work across diverse projects, this role will give you both technical variety and the opportunity to build long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

* Act as the first point of contact and trusted advisor for client IT needs.
* Design, configure, and maintain servers, networks, firewalls, and security systems.
* Troubleshoot complex issues across hybrid, cloud, and on-premise environments.
* Conduct on-site client visits for support, maintenance, and project delivery.
* Deliver high-quality support in line with SLAs, escalating and resolving issues quickly.
* Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to implement solutions.
* Document technical work, site visits, and client interactions clearly.
* Contribute to infrastructure and network projects, from requirements gathering to delivery.
* Provide training and best-practice guidance to clients and colleagues.
* Participate in after-hours/emergency support when required.

Key Skills & Experience

* 5+ years' experience in systems and network engineering.
* Strong knowledge of networking, servers, firewalls, and IT security.
* Experience with cloud, hybrid, and on-premise environments.
* Proficiency with ITSM/helpdesk tools (e.g., Datto Autotask).
* Excellent troubleshooting skills with a proactive, customer-first mindset.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
* Experience delivering on-site technical services and managing multiple priorities.
* Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (preferred).
