Position Profile:
We are seeking to appoint experienced and dynamic registered Psychiatrists to the positions of Medical Co-Director State Forensics /Consultant Psychiatrist and Medical Co-Director Mental Health Specialties / Consultant Psychiatrist.
The Medical Co-Director positions, in partnership with Operational Co-Directors, provide positive team-based leadership, governance, strategic planning and management of the clinical stream. This position will have an important leadership role in ensuring the North Metropolitan mental health services continues to demonstrate a commitment to innovative, contemporary and responsive services that meet the needs of consumers accessing MH services. This includes initiating, implementing and supporting the Mental Health reform priorities for the North Metropolitan Health Service and the Department of Health WA.
Co-Directors work with local and state-wide service partners to respond to issues associated with mental health patient flow and system integration. This includes ensuring the provision of safe, high-quality and efficient patient care consistent with the Health Service’s safety, quality and performance frameworks.
As part of the North Metropolitan Mental Health, Public Health and Dental Services Executive team, these positions will be jointly responsible for the clinical and corporate governance of the Health Service.
The Consultant Psychiatrist positions within the relevant portfolio are responsible for the psychiatric and medical assessment and treatment of consumers under their direct care. Provides clinical leadership, coordination and direction to a multi-disciplinary team responsible for delivering evidence based best practice treatment and evaluates the provision of patient centred-care coordination, within recovery orientated model.

The Co-Directors work in partnership to provide effective leadership, governance, strategic planning, and operational management of the clinical stream. Ensure the provision of safe, high-quality, and efficient patient care consistent with North Metropolitan Health Service’s (NMHS) safety, quality, and performance frameworks.
