**About the organisation**:
Our client is a Community Services organisation that assists people and communities by offering pathways to employment, whilst helping individuals adjust to changing employment conditions. Through state government funded employment services, vocational education and training, this not-for-profit organisation works with the long term unemployed, and tailors training and support to individual needs and local circumstances by engaging with jobseekers and assisting them to find sustainable long term employment.

**About the opportunity**:
As an Employment Consultant, you will form part of a team that get a real buzz out of helping people develop and achieve their end goal of gaining further skills and ultimately, sustainable employment.

You will manage your own caseload of jobseekers, assisting them to overcome various personal barriers that have been preventing them from gaining employment, and work with local employers to find innovative ways to support your clients into work.

You will be professional and able to work within procedural guidelines, using a database to log details, notes and create progress reports on each client. In addition, you will be required to source job opportunities for your clients within the local community through business development activities and networking. The role is targeted and has KPIs around sustainable job placements that meet clients' needs and expectations.

The role offers a competitive salary, not for profit salary sacrificing and a fully maintained vehicle for business and private use.

**To be successful you should have**:

- A results and outcomes focused approach and the ability to work to KPIs and targets.
- Previous experience in a similar role and an understanding of the Employment Services sector (desirable).
- An insight and understanding into the significant barriers facing people living with a disability and the long-term unemployment.
- A good understanding of local labour market issues.
- Excellent time management and organisational ability.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent networking skills and be willing to conduct business development activities with local business and community organisations.
- The ability to mentor and coach jobseekers through the job search process.
- Demonstrated qualities of resilience, empathy, integrity, and compassion.
- A driving licence and a willingness to travel locally.
