Operational risk management is a critical function within the Group's Institutional Banking and Markets division, responsible for managing the Line 1 Operational Risk Management across Commodities, Trade and Carbon (CTC). This role supports the CTC business in aligning its activities with fair outcomes for clients, protecting market integrity, meeting regulatory requirements, and safeguarding people. The Manager/Assoc Dir CTC Risk Oversight will be a trusted advisor and support for operational risk related matters.
The role will provide tools to assist with the management of operational risk across CTC, leveraging knowledge of the end-to-end finance markets environment to coach & advise the Business on effective application of the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF). Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting the design and implementation of controls and process maps to enable better risk and compliance outcomes
* Ensuring risks are profiled and captured in the Business Profile, updating as necessary when risk trigger events occur
* Driving continuous improvement of the business control environment using data to generate insights and recommend courses of action
* Providing stakeholders with insights and suggested actions regarding Operational Risk and control profiles, issues, incidents, and other matters
* Improving awareness and understanding among CTC stakeholders regarding ORMF requirements, roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities under an effective three lines of defence operating model
* Maintaining records and evidence of non-financial risk activities
This role requires outstanding written and verbal communication skills, well-developed organisational skills with a high attention to detail, financial markets experience, and proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders and experience in controls design are essential.
