Role Overview
Digital Project Services (DPS) delivers very complex, high-value, and/or high-risk ICT programs and multi- year digital transformation initiatives for core frontline services through an inter-agency collaborative approach. Such programs relate to systems within Police, Justice, Health and Child Welfare agencies. DPS also provide a range of additional project management to support agency businesses.
In order to deliver the programs and projects, DPS rely extensively on service providers and their capability to source specialist services to meet the specific demands of the program needs. Overview of the project & work unit the position is related to The Education Management Transformation Program is a multi-year program to uplift the NT Department of Education's ICT environment to support the implementation of a Student Centric Management Solution, including the consolidation of data and reporting facilities from several legacy and non- conforming systems within the education ICT ecosystem.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Facilitate workshops, interviews and focus groups to elicit requirements from project stakeholders, including the software
* Responsible for understanding business needs, collecting data, delivering analysis and identifying, evaluating and recommending solution options and preparation of quality evidence-based written reports and other documents, including future state data and process flow maps.
* Develop standardised and consistent technical specification documents for technical domains, including reporting, data migration, and system integrations that support effective quality assurance and testing.
* Establish information management business and functional
* Conduct walkthroughs to validate and obtain approval of business analysis outputs and work
* Work closely with project/business stakeholders and vendor to communicate technical requirements, impacts, technical deliverables, vendor-related dependencies, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
* Work with solution architects, technical leads, developers and vendors to develop customer-centric
* Analyse new source systems and reference data needed for codification and assist with development and configuration
* Assist in the implementation of best practices around the Development, Process, and System Integration and Testing.
* Collaborate with the testing team to design and implement validation processes that ensure technical requirements are met
Essential Skills and Experience
* Hands-on experience in technical analysis and capturing clear technical specifications for data, integrations, reporting, and system configuration.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse and disseminate significant amounts of information across project teams and stakeholders with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Experience in large transformational project/program management within established structures and the ability to work under tight deadlines and competing priorities.
* Experience communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including project team members, technical staff, subject matter experts, vendors and executives.
* Vendor liaison skills to effectively communicate between internal teams and vendor representatives, manage dependencies, and interpret vendor solution capabilities.
* Data and integration expertise, including understanding data structures, mappings, migration, APIs, and interactions across legacy and vendor systems.
* Impact analysis and problem-solving to assess technical impacts across multiple systems, identify gaps, risks, and solution options, and ensure alignment with business needs.
* Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server development and experience using T-SQL, extract-transform-load (ETL) processes, data quality analysis and associated tools such as SSIS and Microsoft Data Quality Services.
* Provide BA and system support, relevant to the provision of requirements support and clarification to design, build, test, implementation and Business as Usual support activities.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Hands-on experience working with a systems replacement project with a COTS product.
* Exposure to release management, i.e. build upgrades, change requests, impact assessment, and release processes, ensuring alignment with technical deliveries.
* Knowledge of data architecture/design concepts and techniques.
* Experience in an education-IT-related field, project or software or other relevant education subject-matter knowledge.
* Tertiary qualifications in information technology, computer science or software engineering or Business Analysis Certification, or equivalent.
* Experience using Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.
