Position Description – Carpenter
* Position Title: Carpenter (Various)
* Reports To: Station and Project Managers (Residential or Commercial) and Site Supervisor
* Location: Various project sites (factory-based and on-site installations as required)
* Employment Type: Full-Time (with probation period)
* Position Purpose: The Carpenter is responsible for delivering high-quality carpentry work across JMB's construction projects, both in the modular factory and on active job sites. This role contributes to the timely, safe, and efficient completion of builds, ensuring all work meets JMB's quality standards, building codes, and safety requirements.
* Key Responsibilities
* Construction & Installation
* Interpret drawings, plans, and specifications to execute carpentry works
* Build, assemble, and install modular structures, frameworks, walls, floors, doors, and fittings
* Carry out formwork, cladding, fix-outs, and other carpentry tasks to high standards
* Assist with modular assembly and site installation works
* Site & Factory Support
* Work collaboratively with other trades, subcontractors, and JMB staff
* Support material handling, preparation, and storage in factory and on-site environments
* Ensure tools, machinery, and work areas are maintained and safe to use
* Quality & Compliance
* Adhere to Australian Standards, National Construction Code, and JMB quality requirements
* Conduct work in line with WHS regulations and JMB's safety systems
* Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and compliance checks
* General Duties
* Assist with general labour tasks when required
* Maintain a clean and organised work area
* Report any defects, hazards, or incidents immediately to supervisors
* Skills & Attributes
* Strong trade carpentry skills across structural and finishing works
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
* High attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Good problem-solving skills and adaptability in varied work environments

* Qualifications & Experience
* Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent trade qualification
* Minimum 2 years' carpentry experience (modular construction experience desirable)
* Current Construction Induction Card (White Card)
* Valid driver's licence and reliable transport
* Additional plant or machinery tickets (e.g., forklift, EWP) desirable
* Performance Measures
* Quality of workmanship meets or exceeds JMB standards
* Work completed within project timelines and budgets
* Adherence to WHS and environmental requirements
* Positive feedback from supervisors, PMs, and clients
* Attendance, reliability, and teamwork
Position Description – Labourer
· Position Title: Labourer
· Reports To: Site Supervisor and Project Manager
· Location: Various project sites (factory-based and on-site installations as required)
· Employment Type: Full-Time (with probation period)
Position Purpose
· The Labourer supports construction and installation activities across JMB's modular factory and job sites. The role focuses on assisting trades, preparing and maintaining work areas, moving materials, and performing general duties to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to JMB's quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Site & Factory Support
o Assist carpenters, tradespeople, and subcontractors as directed
o Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and equipment
o Support modular assembly and installation activities
o Maintain factory and site cleanliness, ensuring safe and tidy work areas
· Construction Assistance
o Perform basic construction and preparation tasks (e.g., cutting, drilling, fastening) under supervision
o Mix and prepare materials as required
o Assist with set-up and pack-down of worksites
· Safety & Compliance
o Follow all WHS procedures and wear required PPE at all times
o Participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings
o Report hazards, incidents, or defects immediately to the Site Supervisor
· General Duties
o Operate basic power tools and equipment under guidance
o Assist in maintaining and storing tools and equipment correctly
o Undertake ad-hoc duties to support project delivery
Skills & Attributes
