About the Role
We are currently looking for a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (Anaesthetist) to join our highly motivated team based at the Mount Isa Hospital to provide anaesthetic services within the North West Hospital and Health Service.
We are an opportunity to develop areas of clinical interest to you within anaesthesia (including obstetrics and regional), ICU, perioperative medicine, pain management, medical education and wellbeing and support continued improvement of health services by participating in quality improvement opportunities.

Pro rata remuneration package (based on full-time equivalent value) from $525,850 up to $650,288 a year.
Base salary rates between $210,332 and $266,677 per annum (based on full-time equivalent value) (L18-L27).

Attraction and Retention incentive allowance 50% base per annum salary.
Regional and Rural attraction allowance 15% base per annum salary.
Inaccessibility allowance of $34,500 per annum.
Motor Vehicle Allowance.
5 weeks per annum annual leave with 17.5% loading.

Requirements
Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
Current registration with or eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.
Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA).
Skills in epidurals for delivery suite and anaesthesia for obstetrics is required.
Scope of practice in paediatric anaesthesia (5 years or younger) is desirable.
An interest or experience in Intensive Care management of patients.
An interest or experience in regional anaesthesia and acute and/or chronic pain management.
C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful candidate.
This is a VPD risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
6 months probation may apply.
