Wangarang is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation in Orange, NSW, committed to creating meaningful employment opportunities and support services for people with disabilities.
We are excited to be launching a new social enterprise coffee cart and are seeking a hands-on Support Leader to play a key role in its success. This is a working leadership role that combines customer service with mentoring and supporting people with disabilities in meaningful employment.
About the Role
As the Support Leader, you will operate the coffee cart alongside supported employees, providing guidance, encouragement, and on-the-job coaching. You will lead by example, delivering great coffee and customer service while helping team members build confidence, skills, and independence.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusion, enjoys working with people, and is comfortable balancing practical work with a support-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver friendly, professional customer service to the public
* Provide hands-on mentoring, coaching, and support to employees with disabilities
* Supervise daily coffee cart operations, including set-up and pack-down
* Maintain a clean, safe, and well-presented workspace in line with food safety standards
* Model safe work practices and positive workplace behaviours
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to operational reporting
* Support other programs or work areas within the organisation when required
Essential Requirements
* Demonstrated ability to supervise, support, and coach employees while working alongside them
* Strong customer service and communication skills
* A patient, calm, and respectful approach to working with people with diverse abilities
* Availability for early morning starts
* Current Australian driver's licence
* Current First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)
* NDIS Worker Check clearance (or ability to obtain)
* Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
Experience in disability support and/or hospitality is desirable but not essential — training and support will be provided.
