Role: Manufacturing Engineer Length : 12 months daily rate contract Location : Sydney Organisation · A leading manufacturing organisation is undertaking a significant transformation program, consolidating and optimising manufacturing sites.
· To support this critical initiative, we are seeking engineer to lead the planning, design, and optimisation of the consolidated facility.
· This role will suit a someone with deep expertise in site consolidation, factory layout design, and end-to-end material flow optimisation within complex manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities · Design and optimise the Saw Area layout, incorporating current operations and those from two additional sites.
· Design the Production Area layout, ensuring efficient integration of equipment, workflows, and capacity requirement · Analyse and validate end-to-end material flow across all manufacturing, production, and support areas.
· Design the Despatch Area, considering: o Finished Goods (FG) flow o Daily volumes of FG and Raw Materials (RM) o Integration of consolidated operations o Design the Warehouse layout based on material flow, throughput, and storage optimisation.
o Drive process improvement and process optimisation initiatives aligned with manufacturing excellence principles.
Key Skills Experience · Strong background in manufacturing operations, industrial engineering and continuous improvement.
· Demonstrated expertise in: o Factory and production layout design o Assembly lines o Warehouse and despatch optimisation · Strong understanding of manufacturing excellence, Lean principles, and operational best practices.
· Ability to operate at a strategic and hands-on level, engaging with both shop-floor teams and executive stakeholders.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
