Salary $71,217 - $86,938 p.a. (Pro Rata) AHP1, $91,785 - $106,330 p.a. (Pro Rata) AHP2
Fulltime – 8 Month Contract Available (until 30th June 2026)
Transform Young Lives: Exciting Occupational Therapist Opportunity | Early Childhood Development Team | SALHN
The Early Childhood team Occupational Therapist is an integral part of the Child Development Services Unit working alongside Speech Pathologists, Clinical Psychologists and Therapeutic Care Staff, providing assessment and therapeutic developmental services to children 0-4 years and their families in the Southern metropolitan region of Adelaide.
Individual, joint and group work is offered.
Supportive clinical supervision, sustainable workload and welcoming experienced OT team are highlights of this position.
Opportunities for movement within the broader SALHN Women\'s and Children\'s Allied Health may be available.
This is a highly rewarding and fulfilling role within a close-knit team of highly experienced Allied Health professionals.
This position is based at the Noarlunga Health Precinct adjacent Noarlunga GP Plus.
About the role:
Reporting to the Allied Health Service Manager - Child Development, some of your duties for the role will include:
Developing, implementing and evaluating assessment and therapeutic intervention strategies appropriate to young children and their families
Administering and scoring standardised tests where possible
Providing training and consultation to other staff members, other agencies and community groups
Utilising specialised skills in the clinical management of complex problems regarding management of young children with developmental delays and their families, where there are also often parent-child relationship issues and high vulnerability
About you:
Demonstrated ability to relate well to, work with and support children 6 weeks to pre-school age and their families from various cultures and backgrounds, often in complex vulnerable families
Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and recognise workload pressures within the service and offer support
Ability to implement a broad range of Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions and make complex clinical decisions
Teamwork knowledge and skills.
Skills in open, honest and respectful communication, treating others as we would like to be treated.

This is a single vacancy, with two possible appointment classifications.
The successful applicants will be appointed in the position appropriate to their skills, qualifications, and experience.
Please note that this position is multi-classed as either a AHP1 or AHP2 and classification will be determined by qualifications and experience.
