About the Opportunity
Working side by side with our talented Pastry Chefs and Chocolatiers, this could be your new place of work.
The Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery is a tourism venue created out of passion. Our personal service and high‑quality standards, amazing festivals and ever‑growing product range make locals and travellers alike keen to return time and time again.
Our striking Chocolaterie is set on 40 acres of landscaped grounds, 15 minutes from Lilydale in the stunning Yarra Valley. We have our own orchard, lawn areas and kitchen garden, welcoming 15,000 visitors each week.
Our production department is an energy‑filled, fast‑paced environment working with the packing team to supply our stunning showroom and busy all‑day café with chocolate, pastries, and ice cream.
This is a full‑time position working day shifts 5 days per week including 1 weekend day.
Qualification & Experience
Formal trade qualifications (Certificate IV / Diploma) in Patisserie, Culinary Arts, or similar field with at least 2 years of relevant work experience
Task & Responsibilities
Key tasks and responsibilities are:
* Work in a safe and responsible manner and conduct routine cleaning of all production facilities and equipment.
* Ensuring the superior quality of the raw materials and managing the accurate measurement of the ingredients.
* Producing chocolate products and gelato as per specifications.
* Meeting quality standards and ensuring a high presentation standard for customers.
* Training and mentoring junior staff and overseeing quality of products made.
* Ensure staff follow proper food safety and sanitation guidelines.
* Develop and execute innovative recipes and techniques, keeping up with current trends.
* Assist with stock control and inventory management in accordance with budget.
* Critical to success in this role will be energy and a passion for quality.
About Us
Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery is family owned and has been operating since 2012. We also have established and manage 2 other Chocolateries in Victoria on the Surf Coast near Torquay and the Mornington Peninsula in the seaside village of Flinders.
The Chocolateries are tourism destinations and combined welcome 1.5 million visitors each year.
Positions for experienced Pastry Chefs and Chocolatiers are also available at Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery. We welcome applicants with leadership experience or those new to the industry.
