About you:

Are you highly organised, detail-oriented and passionate about supporting efficient recordkeeping? Join our team at the City of Belmont as a Records Officer and play a vital role in ensuring compliance with our Record Keeping Plan.


About the role:

As a Records Officer, you will work collaboratively within a dedicated team to manage and maintain accurate records across the organisation. This position is essential to supporting transparency, accountability and operational efficiency within local government.


Key Responsibilities:

* Process and register incoming and outgoing correspondence in our electronic document records management system (eDRMS).
* Maintain accurate hardcopy and electronic record storage, ensuring links between historical and new records.
* Provide guidance and support to staff on recordkeeping responsibilities and assist with eDRMS system queries.
* Undertake quality checks to ensure data integrity and improve searchability.
* Handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality and discretion.
* Collaborate with team members to complete daily tasks and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.


What We are Looking For:

* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of recordkeeping.
* Strong ability to work as part of a team, fostering collaboration and positive relationships.
* Proven ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
* Digital literacy skills, including experience with eDRMS and Microsoft Office applications.
* Knowledge of records management principles and practices.
* Previous experience in a records management environment is highly desirable.
