About the opportunity
The Faculty of Engineering are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow CARE, to support the Faculty’s research agenda by advancing evidence‑based scholarly practice in engineering and computing education, contributing high‑quality research, and strengthening collaborative projects across CARE.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
* work closely with CARE academics, project leads, and research project collaborators
* contribute to the design, coordination, and delivery of engineering and computing education research projects
* collect, manage, and analyse qualitative and quantitative research data
* prepare high‑quality research outputs, including reports, conference papers, and journal articles
* support grant applications, ethics submissions, and project documentation
* facilitate engagement with stakeholders through contributing to workshops, meetings, and dissemination activities.
About you

* experience conducting and coordinating engineering/computing education research in university settings
* proficiency with mixed‑methods designs, including survey design, interviews/focus groups, and classroom/online learning studies
* technical skills in data analysis (e.g., r or python), statistics, and learning analytics; qualitative analysis using nvivo or equivalent
* demonstrated record of peer‑reviewed publications and research reporting; experience contributing to grants and human research ethics submissions
* experience with curriculum and assessment design, educational technologies, and evaluation of teaching innovations in engineering/computing
* a doctoral qualification in engineering, computer science, education (or closely related field), preferably with a strong research focus in discipline‑based education.
