About the role
Billet Engineering is seeking experienced Fitter Turners, CNC Machinists and First-Class Machinist to join our team in West Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. These are full-time roles where you will be responsible for the assembly, repair, and maintenance of a wide range of hydraulic cylinders from various equipment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of our manufacturing facility.
What you'll be doing
* Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to carry out required work
* Operate a variety of manual and automated metalworking machines such as lathes, mills and borers
* Carry out, fault diagnosis, and corrective actions on various components.
* Fabricate and modify parts and components to meet specific requirements
* Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and implement process improvements
* Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used
* Ensure a safe work environment and comply with all relevant health and safety regulations
What we're looking for
* Formal trade qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
* Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Fitter-Machinist in an industrial or manufacturing setting
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues
* Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
* Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
