Marian Catholic College is an expansive co-educational 7-12 secondary school with a current enrolment of around 700 students. The College is located in the beautiful regional city of Griffith in the Riverina area, New South Wales. Marian has a diverse culture which is rich in learning experiences. Your New Role
The Science Technical Assistant works to support the development of a school community where opportunities for students’ development and progress are maximised, thus enabling all students to experience success in the school environment.

Selection Criteria
1. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the ideals of Catholic Education
2. Current First Aid and CPR Certificates or ability to obtain prior to commencement of duties
3. Proficient communication skills, including a high level of literacy and numeracy skills
4. Minimum tertiary qualification in Sciences (e.g. Certificate, Diploma/Associate Degree or Degree) and/or equivalent demonstrated knowledge and relevant work experience in a science laboratory setting
5. Able to demonstrate sound understanding of chemicals, equipment and materials used in a school laboratory and to apply this to the work required including an understanding of managing related risks and hazards
6. Efficient organisational skills and time management procedures
7. Competent in the use of ICT, use of software programs and databases and in maintaining records and registers necessary for the role.
8. NSW Working with Children Check
9. Successful Candidate to undertake a National Criminal History Check
10. Accreditation for Support Staff in a Catholic School (Category A, Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools, Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga) or working towards Accreditation.
