Catering (Kitchen) Assistant – BOH
Full‐time role based in Perth. Back‐of‐House kitchen assistant supporting the chef, focusing on food preparation, cleaning, and maintaining kitchen hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting the Chef with food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, and sorting ingredients.
* Performing general kitchen hand duties, including cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and workspaces.
* Cleaning and maintaining all designated kitchen areas, appliances, utensils, and tools, including canopy and range hoods, fridges, grill, and deep fry bays.
* Cleaning, washing, and storing cooking equipment and pots / pans.
* Sorting and organising stock, ensuring proper storage and rotation of ingredients.
* Assisting with minor cooking tasks, such as preheating food and preparing simple dishes.
* Ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
* Supporting the catering team in delivering high‐quality service to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
* Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
* Basic knife skills and knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment.
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
* The ability to work efficiently in a fast‐paced environment.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
* A preference for 1‐2 years' experience in the hospitality industry.
