With continued growth across WA, the Resource & Industry (R&I) team have opened an opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer with demonstrated materials handling experience to deliver technical designs for a range of large mining projects from the Perth office.
What will a day in this role look like
* Lead mechanical design of material handling systems, including conveyors, chutes, feeders.
* Perform calculations and design checks using engineering software and spreadsheets.
* Model material flows and system performance using software such as Sidewinder, Belt Analyst, Helix, or Rocky DEM.
* Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver detailed design packages for mining and bulk material handling projects.
* Ensure designs meet client, industry, and safety standards.

The qualities that help you thrive
At a minimum, you'll need a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. The following experience are highly desired, but if you don't tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered
* Proven design experience in mechanical/material handling design (essential) as a professional engineer.
* Knowledge of Australian standards across the design and specification of mining bulk materials handling and fluids handling systems and equipment.
* Strong design and calculation skills (software/spreadsheets), with practical experience in material handling design software (Sidewinder, Belt Analyst, Helix, Rocky DEM).
* A collaborative approach with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work in national and global teams to produce innovative and efficient solutions for bulk material handling systems.
