Overview
Magnolia Legal is a specialist franchising law firm that has just celebrated its second birthday. We act for around 30 franchisor clients, work with some genuinely cool and growing brands, and stay busy with interesting, hands-on work.
What you'll do
You'll be in regular communication with franchisors, becoming a trusted ally in their business. Your work will include reviewing and drafting contracts, progressing transactions, and advising on day-to-day franchise and leasing matters. And, if you're lucky, you'll also get some quality pup-time with Terry the Terrier.
Who you are
You have strong, ingrained commercial sensibility. You enjoy talking to people, building relationships, and helping businesses grow. You like being close to the action and taking ownership of your work, not just ticking boxes.
Who you aren't
You're not pining for traditional big-firm law life. Magnolia is not hierarchical, overly polished, or obsessed with process for process' sake — and it never will be. We're practical, collaborative, and focused on doing good work with people we actually like working with.
Qualifications
What you'll bring
Ideally, around 3–6 years' PQE, but we're flexible on that for the right person.
Why this role works
This is an ideal role for an established lawyer seeking flexibility while still maintaining meaningful, hands-on client contact. We are very open to flexible and part-time arrangements.
Magnolia Legal is planning a move to the Illawarra, so Wollongong-based lawyers are strongly encouraged to apply.
