Step into a senior role where your clinical expertise and leadership directly impact care for trans and gender diverse young people. This temporary full‐time position runs until September 2026 and will be based in Newcastle, Awabakal Country.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver comprehensive psychological assessments, diagnosis and treatment, including gender dysphoria assessment.
* Lead evidence‐based individual and group interventions and evaluate therapeutic outcomes.
* Exercise independent clinical judgment in complex presentations.
* Provide clinical supervision, mentorship and consultation to psychologists and allied health clinicians.
* Support reflective practice and guide clinicians managing complex care needs.
* Contribute to and lead research, evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
* Influence service development and strategic planning at district and state levels.
* Model professional behaviours aligned with organisational values, codes of conduct and excellence frameworks.
Required Qualifications
* Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate clinical psychology qualification of no less than two years full‐time duration or recognised equivalent, displayed on the Psychology Board of Australia website.
* Advanced clinical expertise and sound diagnostic skills.
* Experience supervising and supporting clinicians.
* Clear, compassionate and confident communication.
* Strong organisational, leadership and problem‐solving abilities.
* A collaborative approach to multidisciplinary teamwork.
* A reflective and evidence‐informed practice style.
