Pimpala Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) is seeking a vibrant & passionate Assistant Director to join our diverse team. The Assistant Director will be contracted to a minimum of 25 hours per week, with additional hours offered during Vacation Care. The role requires opening the service in Before School Care and closing in After School Care, working in partnership with the OSHC Director.
Opening Hours:
* Before School Care: 6:30am – 9:00am
* After School Care: 3:00pm – 6:30pm
* Vacation Care: 6:30am – 6:30pm
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will need to support the Pimpala Primary School Values and have the capacity to:
* Develop authentic relationships with students, families, and staff
* Create a friendly, secure, stimulating, and enriching learning environment, reflective of the environment as a third educator
* Assist with planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs for students R-6
* Scaffold an engaging & connected vacation care program, where children's voices are visible, and the community & educators collaborate
* Manage online food shopping once per week for the service
* Provide administration support to ensure the effective operations of the OSHC
* Work collaboratively as part of a team and autonomously when required
* Support the day-to-day operation of the service
* Collaborate with school leadership, OSHC Director, and the Governing Council
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements listed in the National Regulations and National Quality Standards
* Participate actively in the Quality Improvement process, self-assessment, and policy & procedure updates
* Support staff in safeguarding children, with sound knowledge of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Code of Ethics
Qualifications & Requirements:
* Diploma in Outside of School Hours Care, Children's Services, Bachelor in Early Childhood/Primary Education - ACECQA approved
* Current DCSI / WWCC
* Current First Aid, CPR, and Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse & Neglect certifications
* Knowledge of ACECQA, National Quality Framework, EYLF, MTOP
* Understanding of child protection practices and safeguarding
Desired Criteria:
* Supervisor's Food Safety Qualification
* Understanding of children with special rights
* Behavior management training
* Experience with OSHC administration systems
* Leadership and mentoring skills
* Familiarity with the NQA Portal and inclusive funding
