Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) has adopted four fundamental values (CORE) which will form the foundation of our organisation: Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. The Senior Manager Workforce Health & Safety will provide district-wide leadership of ISLHD's Workforce Health & Safety (WHS) function, strengthening WHS governance, assurance, risk management, and compliance with WHS legislation and associated Codes of Practice. The role will focus on improving the strategic and operational management of work health and safety (WHS) by working with the organisation to understand safety performance and its causes, designing and implementing measures to improve, and overseeing the assurance that's ISLHD maintains a robust and compliant Safety Management System consistent with legislative, regulatory and NSW Health Policy requirements. Additionally, this role will provide specialised technical advice to all levels of management including Senior Executive on their WHS obligations, including due diligence requirements. The role is also critical in ensuring that enterprise risks are identified and advisory support is provided to relevant stakeholders to ensure these are managed effectively and monitored accordingly.

From Helensburgh in the north to North Durras in the south, ISLHD covers an area of 5,687 square kms.
