Beacon Legal has partnered with a leading global digital infrastructure business in the search for a Senior Legal Counsel to join the Sydney office. This opportunity would suit a lawyer with 8+ years' experience who is looking to step into a broad and commercially significant role.
We're seeking a commercially minded and proactive technology lawyer to join a high-performing legal team. This role offers exposure to a broad range of technology, privacy and data security matters, with a strong focus on negotiating strategic customer agreements and supporting a sophisticated technology-driven business. You'll work closely with stakeholders across legal, commercial, product, technology and security teams in a business operating at the forefront of digital infrastructure. The legal team is highly regarded, commercially focused and deeply embedded within the business.

About the Role
* Lead, negotiate and review a broad range of customer, technology and commercial agreements
* Advise on technology, privacy and data protection matters across the business
* Support commercial and sales teams on strategic customer engagements and contract negotiations
* Partner with technology, product and information security teams on legal and regulatory issues
* Manage external counsel where required
* Assist with the development and implementation of legal, privacy and data governance frameworks
* Contribute to strategic business initiatives and the continued growth of a market-leading technology platform
What we're looking for
* Admitted to practise in Australia
* 8-14 years' experience in technology law
* Experience gained across both a top-tier law firm and a leading in-house legal team
* Strong experience advising on customer contracts, technology agreements, privacy and data security matters
* Excellent technical, commercial and stakeholder management skills
* A proactive, adaptable and collaborative approach
* Strong communication, drafting and problem-solving ability
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving technology environment
