Mix of casual, part‐time and permanent positions are available for experienced aged care staff. The role is located at HammondCare North Turramurra.
The Specialist Carer – Dementia Care supports elderly residents with personal care, such as showering, grooming and toileting, and provides life engagement activities. You will also support residents with varying levels of dementia, recognise changes in their condition, and respond appropriately within the scope of your skills and competencies.
All new staff will complete an on‐site orientation with a Workplace Trainer, receive buddy shifts, and be supported by registered nurses and managers on site.
Key Responsibilities
* Personal care – showering, grooming, toileting, etc.
* Provide life engagement activities.
* Support residents with levels of dementia.
* Recognise, report, and respond appropriately to changes in residents' conditions within your competencies.
What You'll Need
* Genuine passion for serving elderly people and a desire to make a difference.
* Flexible and able to commit to a range of shifts, including nights and weekends.
* Ability to work independently while valuing teamwork and initiative.
* Knowledge and experience with people living with dementia.
* Certification: CertIII or CertIV in Aged Care is viewed favorably.
Monday‐to‐Friday availability is essential to cover morning, afternoon and night shifts. Unlimited work rights are highly regarded, and student visa hour restrictions may affect rostering.
