Overview
Grampians Health Ballarat is offering a traineeship for those pursuing a career through the College of Intensive Care Medicine. The role consists of 6 months in ICU followed by 6 months in either Anaesthesia, Paediatrics or General Medicine.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver appropriate senior medical support to ICU HMOs and clinical management of patients in ICU.
* Assist in the management of acute deteriorating patients in the ward and Emergency Department.
* Support team leader at MET/Code Blue Emergency Response calls across all areas of the hospital.
* Liaise with ward nursing staff to provide guidance with acute clinical management issues.
* Assist with the coordination of inter‐hospital transfers in association with ARV and the treating clinical teams.
Skills and Experience
* Medical Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA).
* MBBS or equivalent degree enabling registration with the Medical Board of Victoria.
* Satisfactory completion of at least three postgraduate years.
* Currently registered as a CICM trainee or commitment to being selected in the CICM training programme.
