Job Description
We are seeking a skilled professional to join our Emergency Housing team as a Community Housing Officer. This is a full-time role offering the chance to contribute to meaningful change for individuals facing housing instability.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering holistic, person-centred support to clients in crisis. They will be responsible for conducting comprehensive initial assessments and developing individualised case plans, monitoring and adjusting these plans in line with client progress and evolving needs.
The officer will also provide immediate crisis support and connect clients with relevant external services. They will collaborate with real estate professionals to support clients' housing outcomes and manage a portfolio of ten residential properties, including inspections and tenancy transitions.
The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders such as Police, Child Safety, Corrections, Youth Justice, Public Guardian, and educational institutions.
The ideal candidate will have qualifications in Mental Health, Social Work, or Community Services and experience working with individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
They will have a strong understanding of the complex needs of vulnerable populations and proven experience in case management, particularly with high-needs or vulnerable populations.
