Job Title: Ecological Specialist
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual looking to lead projects, mentor junior staff and provide high-level technical advice across a variety of ecological and town planning projects.
About the Role
* Delivering technical ecological interpretation and advice across diverse projects
* Leading fieldwork programs, reporting, and client liaison
* Mentoring and supervising ecologists and subcontracted technicians
* Applying your deep knowledge of State and Commonwealth environmental legislation and biodiversity policies
Your Key Responsibilities
* The role requires you to work onsite full-time, with occasional flexibility
* Provide expert ecological advice and input across town planning and environmental projects
* Manage and deliver projects on time and within budget
* Lead project reporting, contract negotiations, invoicing and performance assessments
* Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
* Prepare fee proposals, manage subcontractor accounts and monitor project financials
* Promote the company's environmental capabilities and contribute to business development
* Ensure compliance with environmental policies, standards and procedures
* Supervise and mentor team members and support their professional development
What We're Looking For
* Extensive experience working with a wide range of environmental planning projects with 5-10 years experience in a Senior Ecological role
* Minimum bachelor's degree in relevant field and BAM accreditation
* Current Drivers Licence as there is occasional field work
* A recognised technical expert in ecological management and deep understanding of State and Commonwealth environmental legislation and policy
* Excellent stakeholder communication and relationship-building skills
* Strong project management skills, with a focus on quality and delivery
* Meticulous attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
