About the Opportunity

The Early Pregnancy Assessment Service (EPAS) is a low risk outpatient facility for clinically stable women currently less than 20 weeks gestation, experiencing threatened loss or loss of pregnancy including mild pain and minimal vaginal bleeding.

The service aims to provide a standardised model of care that provides; assessment, investigation, management, emotional care and counselling, meeting the clinical and emotional needs of the women and her partner/ family.

This is a opportunity to Liverpool Hospital's Women's and Children's team at a time when they are undergoing a re-development. You will have an opportunity to be involved in the development of the EPAS department which will also include the model of care within the service and how care is delivered.

What you'll be doing

The Early Pregnancy Assessment Service (EPAS) is a low risk outpatient facility for clinically stable women currently less than 20 weeks gestation, experiencing loss of pregnancy or threatened loss and may include women with mild pain and minimal vaginal bleeding.

The EPAS Registered Midwife provides high quality, standardised and consistent care that includes; assessment, investigation, management, emotional care and counselling, meeting the clinical and emotional needs of the women and her partner/family who are experiencing early pregnancy complications.

Where You'll Be Working

Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.

The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.

Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.

Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the UNSW Sydney and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.

Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.
