Salvos services go beyond addressing the core issues and challenges associated with problematic substance abuse and provide participants a place of hope, compassion, and dignity to recover safely.**About the role:**Support participants by ensuring a safe, structured, and participant-focused environment, aligned with The Salvation Army (TSA) guidelines and a recovery-oriented approach.**How You Will Make an Impact:*** Provide a warm and responsive first point of contact for participants, addressing urgent and immediate needs.* Collaborate with senior staff to take appropriate preventative measures in high-risk situations.* Facilitate daily programs and activities, including social events, morning meetings, and information groups. Assist Participants with medications and driving to appointments.* Assist with the cleaning and turnaround of Participant residential accommodation in preparation for new admission* Share relevant information to support assessment and address participants' individual needs and circumstances.* Build effective, supportive relationships that promote participant engagement, self-determination, and personal development.**What You Will Bring:*** A degree in Social Work, Youth Work, or a related field, or a minimum Diploma-level qualification in Community or Youth Services (or similar discipline), along with relevant sector experience.* Proven experience in case management with individuals facing complex or disadvantaged circumstances.* Strong understanding of trauma, mental health, and the emotional development of young people.* Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations and awareness of varied religious and cultural practices.* A current Driver's Licence.* A valid Working with Children Check.* A current First Aid certificate (or the ability to obtain one promptly).**What we offer:*** A current and valid First Aid Certificate* A valid driver's licence* A relevant certificate or diploma-level qualification (or equivalent experience and/or on-the-job training)* An international police check, if applicable* A current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) — required for roles based in Townsville and Mount Isa:The Salvation Army (Salvos) is a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest and most-loved charities.
