Typical Assessment Officer Responsibilities :
Assess and process applications in accordance with program guidelines, legislation, and policy frameworks
Conduct research, data entry, and record management to support program delivery
Provide accurate and timely advice to internal and external stakeholders
Draft and review correspondence, reports, and documentation
Contribute to the continuous improvement of assessment processes and procedures
Maintain confidentiality and uphold APS values in all aspects of work
Assist with coordination of projects, reporting, and quality assurance activities
What We Look For in Candidates : We're seeking detail-oriented and professional individuals who can manage competing priorities while applying sound judgment and analytical thinking.
General Requirements :
Australian Citizenship (mandatory)
Experience in assessment, program delivery, or administrative support within the APS or a similar environment
Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management or workflow systems
Sound understanding of government processes, policy application, or compliance requirements
