IEPro Recruitment currently has an opportunity for a
Project Engineer
or
Senior Project Engineer
with locally gained road construction experience to join our growing client in a client-side capacity. Prior contractor-side experience working on tier 1 projects and prior client-side experience are highly beneficial to this opportunity.
The project is located in the Northern Tablelands of NSW. Relocation assistance will be provided. TfNSW / DTMR and/or local government experience is highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate daily site activities across multiple work fronts
Review and approve RFIs and technical queries onsite
Monitor contractor progress against program milestones and compliance requirements
Issue site instructions and maintain audit-proof records of variations and clarifications
Prepare site access schedules and manage Crown Land licence applications
Provide technical clarifications for council and stakeholders
Ensure alignment between contractor obligations and council expectations
Negotiate scope clarifications and rates with contractors to ensure fair outcomes
Track subcontractor performance, safety compliance, and quality assurance routines
Escalate risks and recommend corrective actions to maintain delivery certainty
Support draft for Council and TfNSW report
Compile monthly progress reports and dashboards for senior stakeholders
Maintain audit-proof records of variations, RFIs, and technical clarifications
Coordinate submission of inspection reports, safety audits, and quality assurance documentation
Promote council's values and priorities across project delivery teams
Ensure contractor behaviours and practices align with council expectations and community standards
Support transparent communication and collaboration between council, contractors, and stakeholders
Embed council's governance, compliance, and sustainability objectives into daily site activities
Support council culture, reinforcing accountability, fairness, and long-term community benefit
Requirements
A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
At least 5 years plus experience on civil construction projects (Preference on road/bridge), with a minimum of 3 years on major projects in Australia
Strong Interpersonal skills
