The North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (NAAJA) is seeking a committed Civil Lawyer to join our Katherine-based team.
The Opportunity
NAAJA’s Civil Law Practice is busy, diverse, and deeply impactful—providing culturally competent, trauma-informed services in areas such as police and prison accountability, housing, child protection, discrimination, tenancy, social security, and coronial inquests.
As a Civil Lawyer, you will:
* Provide expert legal advice and representation to Aboriginal clients
* Undertake litigation and casework across a range of civil law matters
* Deliver advice clinics in urban centres and remote Aboriginal communities
* Identify and contribute to law reform and policy change
* Work collaboratively with our dedicated team to achieve justice outcomes
What We’re Looking For
* Is admitted or eligible for admission as a solicitor in the NT
* Has civil law experience and litigation skills
* Communicates well across cultures and communities
* Is ready to travel and stay overnight in remote areas
* Wants to contribute to law reform and social justice
