**About the role**
As a Counter Team Member, your day will involve:
- Welcoming customers, answering their questions and providing information on products and promotions
- Operating Point-of-Sale (POS) registers and other electronic equipment; learning product names and codes for efficient transactions.
- Serving customers efficiently, in a friendly and courteous manner
- Bagging, packing or wrapping purchases to ensure safe transport; offering or arranging assistance to carry customer's groceries to their car when necessary
- Processing refunds and exchanges, resolving customer queries
- Learning and following the laws restricting the sale of alcohol, cigarettes and tobacco-related items
- Updating displays around the counter, ensure the area is clean, tidy and inviting to customers
**You will need**:
- A friendly attitude, with strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a high level of competence in written and spoken English
- A love of working with food
- A high level of energy and ability to take direction and show initiative
- Ongoing daytime availability on at least 3-4 days per week (Your standard roster will be agreed based on operational needs as well as your availability.)
