Emergency Registrar / Principal House Officer

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Principal House Officer (PHO) or Registrar to join the team on a temporary full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a progressive regional Emergency Department with strong training accreditation, diverse case exposure and genuine career development pathways.
Your Opportunity
As a Principal House Officer or Registrar (PGY4+), you will:
Participate in the delivery of safe, effective and equitable emergency care Contribute to service development and clinical governance Support medical education and knowledge dissemination Work within a collaborative, well-supported multidisciplinary team
This role provides broad emergency exposure and structured training in a supportive regional setting.

Accredited by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) for Specialist Fellowship Training Accredited for Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine Advanced Skills Training (AST) Accredited for Royal Australian College of General Practitioners Core Generalist Training (CGT) Tier 3 Training Site (12 months Emergency Medicine training) Foundational, Intermediate and Advanced Associateship ACEM Training Programs
Additional Opportunities Include
Non-ED rotations in Anaesthetics, ICU and other specialties Strong FACEM presence with point-of-care ultrasound teaching Mixed Adult / Non-Major Referral Base caseload
