Job Description
This role is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of children and young people. The Home-Based Care Support Worker will work closely with clients and families within our Foster Care program, providing essential support and meeting each child's unique needs.
The ideal candidate will have a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or other relevant qualifications. They will also have a valid Victorian driver's licence and the ability to operate MacKillop passenger vehicles.
In this fulfilling role, you'll collaborate with the HBC Case Manager and Coordinator to provide support to our clients and their families. Whether it's planning activities within the home, exploring the community, or assisting with transportation, your focus will be on ensuring the emotional and physical well-being of each child.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* A Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential and out of home care), or other similar or relevant tertiary qualifications.
* A current valid Victorian driver's licence and the ability to operate MacKillop passenger vehicles in accordance with all Victorian Road Safety Regulations.
* An understanding of Trauma and how best to work with children and young people in Out of Home Care.
* Genuine interest in young people and their wellbeing, and demonstrate experience providing empathy for and caring for young people in an open minded and non-judgmental manner.
* Demonstrated understanding of, and respect for, cultural and linguistic diversity (CALD), including cultural safety for children from CALD backgrounds.
