The Western Renewables Link is a proposed new 190 kilometre overhead high-voltage electricity transmission line that will carry renewable energy from Bulgana in western Victoria to Sydenham in Melbourne’s north-west. This critical infrastructure will unlock the renewable energy potential of western Victoria as a key Renewable Energy Zone and help deliver clean and affordable energy to all Victorians. The Opportunity Genus is seeking a Requirements Engineer to establish, maintain, and govern a single source of truth for all technical, regulatory, contractual, and client requirements on the WRL project. Ensure atomic requirement capture, full traceability, verification & validation (V&V) closure, and evidence-based assurance across design, construction, commissioning, and handover. Key Accountabilities: -Requirements Capture & Structuring Decompose client, regulatory, and project obligations into clear, testable requirements; develop and maintain the Requirements Breakdown Structure (RBS) -Traceability & Change Management Maintain end-to-end traceability; manage RFI/DCN/ECP requirement-based changes; coordinate impact assessments (cost, risk, schedule) -Verification & Validation (V&V) Develop V&V strategy and matrix; align with ITPs, HP/WP, FAT/SAT, commissioning tests; secure IC/Client approvals. -Interface & Configuration Management Establish and maintain interface requirements (civil–electrical–mechanical–SCADA–P&C); ensure configuration baseline control -Quality Integration Embed requirements within RIB CX workflows (Lots, NCRs, ITRs, defects, staged completion); support audits and assurance reviews -Digital Engineering & IM Integrate requirements with ProjectWise, BIM models, Aconex/PDCS; ensure metadata integrity for handover packs - Stakeholder Engagement Lead requirement clarification workshops; provide guidance to engineering teams, supply chain, OEMs, IC and Client -Risk & Opportunity Link critical requirements to project risk register; recommend mitigation strategies and performance opportunities.
