Role Summary:
This highly specialized administrative position supports the Melbourne International Police Department (MAPD) in managing security badges and access monitoring. The successful candidate will work independently, demonstrating discretion and diplomacy when interacting with various stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Oversee daily operations of the badging office, guiding staff and volunteers to ensure efficient service.
2. Evaluate staff performance, providing coaching and guidance to enhance skills.
3. Maintain accurate documentation, including the Airport Badging Manual, ensuring compliance with TSA, Customs, and ASP requirements.
4. Lead the transition to a new badging system, guaranteeing data accuracy for secure access control.
5. Assist badge applicants with SSI online training, ensuring completion meets TSA and ASP standards.
6. Serve as Public Records Representative, handling requests promptly and professionally.
7. Support administrative duties for police leadership, including records management.
8. Collaborate with TSA and Customs to ensure badge requirements are met.
9. Act as a Trusted Agent under the ASP, assisting with its management.
10. Prepare TSA audits and reports accurately and on time.
11. Represent MAPD in meetings and interagency sessions, advising on badging issues.
12. Communicate procedures and compliance information to tenants, employees, and customers.
13. Operate the security badge system and related applications.
14. Enforce internal controls for badge processing to ensure data security.
15. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Organizational Management, or Criminal Justice from an accredited institution.
* At least three years of responsible, high-volume customer service experience utilizing a computer database, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Experience in a civilian law enforcement role.
Licenses and Certifications:
* Valid driver's license.
* Pass TSA security background check.
* Complete FAA Security Class with a minimum score of 70.
* Pass pre-hire drug screening and ongoing random testing.
* FBI fingerprint criminal background check.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Understanding of security and safety regulations at Melbourne International Airport.
* Ability to learn airport security systems, rules, and regulations.
* Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to develop and deliver training presentations.
* Effective in establishing and maintaining working relationships.
